My passion lies in understanding behaviour as a meaningful form of communication and creating pathways for individuals to thrive in their environments. I believe in working collaboratively with families, support teams, and other professionals to develop approaches that are practical, respectful, and sustainable.
Through my work, I focus on addressing underlying needs, building capacity within teams, and fostering positive relationships. I am driven by the philosophy that behaviour support is about empowering individuals to live their best lives by understanding their experiences and implementing strategies that promote inclusion and dignity.
Summary of Experience:
I am an Advanced Level Positive Behaviour Support Practitioner with over five years of experience working with individuals with disabilities across a wide range of ages and needs. Starting as a support worker, I developed a strong foundation in person-centered care, which has shaped my approach to behaviour support. I am passionate about fostering meaningful behaviour change by collaborating with teams to create practical and compassionate strategies tailored to each individual.
I hold a Diploma in Social Studies from the University of the Sunshine Coast. I spent two years studying psychology at the University of the Sunshine Coast before discovering my true passion, which led me to shift my focus to behavioural science, a field I am currently pursuing. My professional development includes:
